Narromine on Saturday afternoon. The unfortunate man, who was employed by Mr. F. L. Ryrie, was engaged at breaking in a pair of horses, when the animals took fright and bolted. The trap collided with a stump, and Flood was thrown out. His scalp was almost torn off, and he sustained other serious injuries. At latest advices his condition was critical. [3]

The deceased attended Holy Mass in the morning, and was in usual health. Late in the afternoon he complained of a pain near the heart, and soon after expired. The late Mr. Flood was born near Carcoar, and was 72 years of age. He was married, and leaves one brother, Mr. Patrick Flood (Darlinghurst), and one sister, Mrs. M. Byrnes (Wallerawang). The remains were laid to rest in the Catholic portion of the Wallerawang Cemetery. Rev. Father J. Phelan, of Lithgow, read the prayers at the graveside. — R.I.P.
