Biography

Elsie was born in 1885. She is the daughter of Daniel Flory and Catherine Driver. [1]

Miss Elsie Drive Flory, 78, of 2608 N. Augusta St. Staunton, died at King's Daughter's Hospital Wednesday afternoon.

She was born at Bridgewater, April 28, 1885, and was a daughter of the Rev. Daniel Christian and Catherine Driver Flory.

She was educated in Augusta County schools and attended Bridgewater College. Miss Flory was associated with the late Mack W. Wheat in his interior decoration business for a number of years. She was a member of the Staunton Church of the Brethren.

She is survived by one sister, Miss Anna Flory, with whom she made her home; three brothers, the Rev. Myron M. Flory of Bridgewater; Earl D. Flory of Rt. 4, Staunton; Samuel I. Flory of Ft. Defiance, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday from the Staunton Church of the Brethren by the Rev. Clarence R. Bowman. Burial will be in Middle River Church of the Brethren cemetery at New Hope.

Pallbearers will be: Lurty L. Grove, Ray S. Cline, Frank B. Click, Carl Simmons, David Melton, Frank G. Adams, Ellis P. Dinkle and H. J. Coffman.

The body will remain at the Hamrick Funeral Home until it is taken to the church one hour before the service.

The family will recieve friends at the home of Miss Anna Flory.
