CENSUS INFORMATION: In the 1841 UK Census of St Agnes, she is listed as Nanny Floyd, aged 14 born in county. She is living with her parents and a brother in Goonown, St Agnes. (HO107/149, Folio 1, Page 52). In the 1861 UK Census, she is listed as Fanny (sic) Gunning, a tidewater wife aged 34 and born in St Agnes, Cornwall. She is living with 2 daughters and a son, in 24 Clifton Grove, Gravesend, Kent. (RG9/471, Folio 191, Page 44). In the 1871 UK Census, she is listed as Nanny Gunning, aged 49 and born in St Agnes, Cornwall. She is living with her husband, a daughter and a son, at 10 Edward Street, Mile End Old Town, Tower Hamlets, London. (RG10/563, Folio 19, Page 30). In the 1881 UK Census, she is listed as Mary Gunning, aged 54 and born in St Agnes, Cornwall. She is living with her husband, a son and 2 grandsons, at 4 Princes Road, in Chigwell, Essex. (RG11/1736, Folio 52, Page 3). In thje 1891 UK Census, she is listed as Nanny Gunning, aged 64 and born in St Agnes, Cornwall. Together with her son (Alfred James Gunning), daughter in law and a frandson and a grandaughter, she is a visitor to Elizabeth Teverson, in Loughton, Chigwell, Essex. (RG12/1362, Folio 114, Page 1). In the 1901 UK Census, she is listed as Mary A Gunning, aged 75 and born in St Agnes, Cornwall. She is living with her husband, in Hastings, Sussex. (RG13/864, Folio 103, Page 15).

The Bristol Mercury (Bristol, England), Saturday, July 17, 1847; Issue 2991: Married. July 10 at Bethesda Chapel, Truro, by the Rev. D Round, Mr James Gunning , of this city, to Nanny Argall, eldest daughter of Captain John Floyd, of St Agnes, Cornwall.

From the Royal Cornwall Gazette - Fri. 16th July 1847: Marriages; At Bethesda Chapel, Truro, on Saturday last, Mr. Gunning of the Preventitive Service, to Nanny, eldest daughter of Mr. John Floyd of St Agnes Coombe, St Agnes.

N.B. Her daughter, Louisa Carolina Gunning (husband James Gray) had moved earlier with the 2 sons, and then moved to China in 1905 with her daughter, (Muriel Alice Gray). This daughter married in China, but ended up leaving with her 3 young children and without her husband and eventually started a new family in Canada.

DEATH: Her death is recorded in the GRO indexes for the Camberwell Registration District in the June quarter of 1904 under reference 1d 457. She is recorded as Nanny Argall Gunning, aged 78.
