COVINGTON COUNTIAN DIES AT AKRON, OHIO
J.P. Floyd, 60, died in Akron, Ohio Sunday morning while on a visit to his sons and daughter in that place. The deceased was a native of Pike County but had made his home in Covington for many years near Straughn.
He is survived by his widow, four sons, L.M. and Cortez of Akron; Prof. Jas.P. , of Weogufka, Al.; and R.L. , Straughn; three daughters, Mrs. Louise Straughn, Akron; Mrs. Annie Laurie Holland, Gantt, and Miss Jesse Floyd of Fleeta. The body arrived in Andalusia Wednesday morning and was carried to the home of the deceased’s son, R.L., near Straughn.
Funeral services were conducted at Mt. Zion church Wednesday afternoon with Elder Malone officiating. Interment was made in Mt. Zion cemetery with Benson and Co. directing.[2]
