Samuel was the son of Nimrod & Mahala Keller Floyd. Nimrod died in Tennessee in 1856. Mahala moved with her ten children in 1858 to Dent County, Missouri. Samuel had the Southern accent and his neighbors found his ways of expressing himself amusing. He married Narcissus Creasy 1 January 1874. They had five children: John William; Thomas Andrew; Mahala Pernina Hill; Patricia Isabelle Turner; and Eric Lafayette. Samuel was a farmer. Parents: Nimrod Floyd ?-1856 Mahala Keller Floyd 1816–1901
