Edward J. Flynn, age 83, died at his home in Palm City, Florida on February 23, 2006, after a lengthy illness. He was born on May 7, 1922, in Newfane, NY, the son of Hubert and Mae Flynn. He graduated from Lockport High School in 1939, attended Governor Dummer Academy, served in the U. S. Navy and graduated from Hamilton College, Class of 1945. He and his father were the original owners of The Village Tavern in Olcott, NY. He worked as a financial advisor in Buffalo and then in Fort Lauderdale until his retirement. He was active in the Fort Lauderdale Council Navy League from 1986-1996. Ed is survived by his companion of 24 years, Anne Burwell; sons Tyler (Letha) Flynn of Columbus, OH and Barre Flynn of Brooklyn, NY; grandchildren Alyson Flynn, Tyler, Jr., and Carolyn (Craig) Gunther; great-grandchildren Carter Stanislaw, Noah Stanislaw and Owen Gunther. He was preceded in death by his son Geoff (Marcia) Flynn and his grandson Eric Flynn.
