Biography

William Fobes was born about 1649 or 1650, probably at Duxbury, Massachusetts. In 1675 he was elected constable of Duxbury. Prior to marriage he was described as of Bridgewater, Massachusetts. About 1682 he married Martha (Pabodie) Seabury probably at Duxbury. After marriage, the family seems to have resided at Little Compton, Rhode Island. The couple had four children; Elizabeth, Constant (female), Mary, and Mercy. He died about a year after his wife, on November 6, 1712. William died on 6 November 1712 in Rhode Island, United States.[1]

Research Notes

Apparently, the existence of a first spouse Elizabeth is not established. 2nd spouse Martha is granddaughter of Mayflower Alden.
