Patrick was born about 1811 the son of Peter Foley and his wife Dorothy (nee Daly).
He passed away after 1855. Patrick arrived in Australia on 19th January 1841 on the "Alfred". He was 30 and was with his wife Ellen (nee Whitney) who was 26. The ship records list his occupation as butcher and farmer and Ellen is dairymaid. They could both read and write. They had come from Longford. Their daughter Mary Foley, age 11 months, was with them. They arrived under the bounty system of immigration.

Patrick Foley was buried in the Gunning Catholic Cemetery, Gunning in New South Wales, Australia.
