Biography

Susan Folsom was born near Atlanta Georgia, circa 1788, a daughter of John Folsom. Susan married Richard Rivers and had a son Linson Franklin Rivers, born 1825, died 1865, who married Alpha Roundtree, born 1830, died 1875, when daughter Mary Etta was 12 years old. ^[1]

Susan (Susanna?) married Richard Rivers, born circa 1800, in South Carolina. Richard died in 1873, in Pontotoc county, Mississippi. Children of Susan and Richard are:

• Linson Franklin Rivers, born 1825, in Hancock county, Georgia, died 1863, in Pontotoc County, Mississippi, married Alpha Roundtree

• Jane Folsom Rivers, born July 9, 1830, died March 22, 1865, married Thomas Walker Taylor (1815-1895) a son of Micah Taylor ^[2]

• Nancy Rivers, born 1832

• Joel Lewis Rivers, born 1834 in Georgia., died 1870, married Mary Elizabeth Ford, a daughter of William Ford (1812-before 1860) and Prudence Foster (b. 1815) on January 31, 1861, in Pontotoc County, Mississippi

• Elisha Folsam Rivers, born 1835 in Marshall County, Mississippi, died after 1880 in Oxford, Lafayette County, Mississippi, married Susan Elizabeth Alexander, born 1841, a daughter of Robert Jackson Alexander and Charity Ann McCorkle

• Susan Rivers, born 1837

• Tabitha Rivers, born 1839, also married a Taylor, possibly her sister Jane's husband. Jane died at the age of 34 years, leaving three small children to raise.

• Richard Columbus Rivers, born 1841, died 1918, married Adelaide Tyler

• John Robert Rivers, born 1847. died 1877, married Dink Ford (1850-1875)

• Benjamin Rivers, born 1850, died 1880, married Betty Hopper
