John Folsom was born on February 2, 1860 in Winchendon, Worcester County, Massachusetts, United States and lived his entire life there. His parents were John Gilman and Eunice Matilda (Whitney) Folsom. [1] [2]

He married Rose Preston on February 19, 1884, in Gardner Massachusetts. [3] [4] [2]

John and Eunice had the following children: [2]

  2. John Richard Folsom, born Jan. 18, 1886,[5] m. Mary Ann Lee.[3][4]
  3. Franklin Horace Folsom, born June 3, 1888,[1] d. August 22, 1891.[1]
  4. Ray Whitney Folsom , born in Gardner, Massachusetts, Feb. 26, 1892. [1]Ray died young, in Gardner.[1]
  5. Charles Arthur Folsom, born in Gardner, Massachusetts, June 26, 1893,[5] m. Irene Pare.[6]
