Doris,

You've probably been hard at work adding family members and getting connected to those that are already here. You should have at least a few profiles that you manage now. You've covered a lot of ground the past few weeks. So, this week we're going to look at how to work with your Watchlist: How to Manage Your Watchlist

We are also going to give you just a few more tools that can take you even deeper into the WikiTree forest without getting lost: How to Dig a Little Deeper

As always, your questions are welcome!

Doris--

You've been here for three weeks now! We hope you're profiles are starting to come together and that you've enjoyed getting to know all of us a little better. You're probably getting a good feel for the collaborative nature of WikiTree by now. We know that collaboration isn't always easy. So, we've put together a few pointers that can make working in this type of environment a little easier: How to be a Successful WikiTreer. As always, your questions are welcome!

Hi Doris!

It's time for your next stop on your guided tour. This week, we'd like to introduce you to our community and show you some ways to get more involved and stay up to date on everything that's going on: How to Join in the Community.

See you around the Tree!

Sorry for the flood of emails. The confirmation message I sent was missing a link to How to Start Climbing Our Tree.

Doris, I'd suggest adding a separate tag for your "Sievers" surname. If you have separate tags, you'll be able to click on them to see a lot of information about the surname including all of the profiles with that name. With Sievers only in the comment of your husband's Fone surname tag, that won't be possible.

You'll also get notifications in your daily & weekly emails when there is activity relevant to your tag.

You can read more about Tags on the related help page here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Tags

A fast way to get to your Tags is with this link: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:Following

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Doris, you are now a confirmed member of WikiTree. As we've said, WikiTree is quite different from other genealogy sites. So, we've put together a guided tour to help you learn how to use it. Your first stop is How to Start Climbing Our Tree. Next week, you'll get another message with your next stop on the guided tour.

Our G2G forum is a great way to get to know our community! Join the fun with our Question of the Week: Have you discovered any real characters in your branches?

Tomorrow, you'll hear from a Mentor who will check in to see how you're doing and answer any questions you might have.

Thanks for becoming part of our shared WikiTree!

Hi Doris,

A warm welcome to the WikiTree family! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site you’ve ever used and it is FREE. WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!

What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? When you confirm your email address, you’ll have an opportunity to volunteer and tell us about your genealogical interests.

Once you volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and you’ll be on your way!

We’re really glad you’re here. More importantly, have fun growing your family tree and connecting to persons with the same interest.

Ludwig :)
