DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with Nicolas or other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree:

Hi Nicolas!

Some time ago, you have expressed your interest in Project Belgium. The project has recently been promoted from a free-space project to a more official project (actually a sub-project of Europe)! You can find the (revamped) project page here.

That means among other things that you can now receive a project badge (of the Europe Project) indicating your involvement, that we can more easily create stickers, that we will be able to discuss and "officially" establish guidelines and standards relating to Belgian profiles, and that we will have a project account for important Belgian profiles.

If you're still interested, could you (re)confirm your interest to become a member of Project Belgium by answering this g2g post? I will then make sure you receive the (Europe) badge!

Best regards,

Filip

Hi Nicolas,

I would like to start a "Belgium" sub-project under the "Europe" project. (see https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/922866/id-like-to-join-the-belgian-roots-project).

Since you're one of the managers of the "Belgian roots" page, I wanted to ask whether you have any objections to that? Would you mind, if there would be such a project, that I use some of the information on that page to get things going?

Of course, I hope you'll be one of the first members, if the project is set up!

Best regards, Filip

Hi

Wish you a Happy New Year. May 2018 bring you all you need to be happy.

Congratulation for adding your contributions in December. Whatever the quantity of your contributions, they all count. As we always say "Quality is better than quantity" to make a great family tree.

Thank you for being a Wikitreer,

Guy Constantineau - Wikitree leader

Hi Nicolas,

Thank you for becoming pre-1700 certified. Now that you will be working on much older profiles, where there are often a group of people collaborating on profiles together, I strongly encourage you to consider joining a project. A list of current Pre-1700 project can be found here. I do see that you have Belgian/Flemish ancestors and that we do not have a project for Belgium yet. You might like to take a look at how to start a project and contact Julie for her help. In the mean time, if you have any questions let me know.

Hi Nicolas,

You've been a member of WikiTree for about a week now so I thought I would check in to see how it's going. Have the How-Tos been helpful or left you with questions?

We want to help! Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

Charlotte ~ WikiMessenger

PS Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.

Hi Nicolas,

Thanks for volunteering! You are now a full member of the WikiTree community, and can start adding your family. Let me know if you have any questions.

Since WikiTree is different from other genealogy sites, we have a guided tour for new members at New Member How-To. Feel free to work through the How-Tos at your own pace.

Once you add profiles to WikiTree they become searchable and in my experience persons interested in these profiles will contact you and may provide further information to expand your family tree.

Great to have you on board, enjoy, and good luck growing your branches.
