Antoine Fontenot, son of Jacob or Jacques Fontenot and Rosalie Jeansonne, was baptized on 30 Sep. 1794, his baptism was recorded at St. Landry Catholic Church, Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.^[1]

He married Catherine Fontenot, daughter of Jacques Fontenot and Eulalie Doucet, on 5 July 1814, their marriage was recorded at St. Landry Catholic Church.^[1]
