Biography

Phillippe Jean Louis Fontenot, son of Jean Louis Fontenaut and Marguerite Dousset, was born about 1762 based on his age in the 1777 census. ^[1]

He married Marie Francoise Berza, daughter of Joseph Berza and Antoinette Lemoin, about 1788. The births of their children were recorded at St. Landry Catholic Church, Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.^[1]

He died before 14 March 1842 the date of his succession hearing in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.^[1]
