Biography

Jean Louis Fontenot, son of Phillippe Jean Louis Fontenot and Marie Francoise Berza, was born on 12 May 1796 and baptized on 16 April 1797, the The birth and baptism were recorded at St. Landry Catholic Church, Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.[1]
He married Marguerite Pitre, daughter of Francois Pitre and Eugene Guillory, on 3 Nov. 1818, the marriage was recorded at St. Landry Catholic Church.[1]
