Biography

Manuel Fontenot was born on 29 Oct 1818 and baptized in June the following year in Opelousas, Louisiana. In later years, his father's second name "Larose" is often seen along with "Manual" but wasn't his given name at baptism. He was the son of Joseph Phillip Larose Fontenot (~1780 - <1830) and Marie Josephe Mathilde (Ortego) Fontenot (1790 - <1866).[1]

Manuel Larose married Amelie Buller (~1819 - ) on 12 Dec 1839 in Opelousas. Her name appears in various church records written Emilie Bouller, Melite Buller, Emilie BOULET, Emelie BULLARD, Emilie BOULLARD, Emelie BOULER, Emelie BULLARD & Emilie BOULLER.[1]
