Cyperien Fontenot, son of Louis Belaire Fontenot and Maire joubert, was born on 25 March 1808 and baptized on 7 Aug. 1808, his birth and baptism were recorded at St. Landry Catholic Church, Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.[1]

He married Marie Louise Ritter, daughter of Henri Ritter and Marie Magdeleine Jeansonne, on 26 April 1831, their marriage was recorded at St. Landry Catholic Church, Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.[1]
