She married Laurent Dupre dit Terrebonne; Laurent died in April 1783.[1]
Marie Josephe next married a cousin Louis "dit Grand Louis" Fontenot, son of Jean Baptiste Louis Fontenot and Marie Francoise Louise LaGrange December 6, 1786. Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.[1]
She signed her marriage contract with an "x" veuve Terrebonne.[2]
Marie died before 13 Nov. 1843 the date of her succession in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.[1]

Fontenot, Louis- native of Alibamons, province of Louisiana (major son of Jean Fontenau and Marie Francoise La Grange). Groom's witnesses were Le Bray de Gonov; Brunet. Groom's property consisted of 1400 piastres in horned cattle, horses, jumens, and sheep.

Marie Fontenau - native of Alibamons; widow of Laurent Dupre dit Terrebonne (Josephe Fontenau and Marie Jeanne Brignac) Her witnesses were Baptiste Fontenau and Escouffie. Her property consisted of 2000 piastres from the estate of her deceased husband. The remainder of the estate goes to their children: Jacques, Laurent, Antoine, and Eugenie.
