Biography

Etienne Alexandre Philippe Fontenot, son of Phillippe Jean Louis Fontenot and Marie Francoise Berza, was born on 18 Jan. 1803, his birth and baptism were recorded at St. Landry Catholic Church, Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.[1]

He married Sarah McDaniel, daughter of John McDaniel and Catherine Corkran, on 19 May 1826 at St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.[1]

Etienne Alexandre died on 12 July 1836 at St. Landry Parish, his succession that identified his widow Sarah McDaniel and their children, Celestine; Porceline; Elizabeth and Sophie was dated April 1837.[1]

His widow, Sarah, married Charles Greenwell on 17 Nov. 1840.[1]
