John Forber was christened on 17 Nov 1816 in Prescot, Lancashire. He was the son of John and Grace Forber.
By June 6th 1841, the family were living near the toll gate in Eccleston, Lancashire. John's father was working as a labourer; his age appears to have been misrecorded as 40. John was working as a carter.
John married Alice Welding (or Welden) on 5 Feb 1843 at Rainford Chapel of Ease in the parish of Prescot, Lancashire. Both were of full age (21 or more) and lived in Eccleston, and neither had been married before. John was a carter. Their fathers were named as John Forber (clerk) and Edward Welding (stonemason). The witnesses were Robert Orford and Margaret Forber.
Their daughter Grace was born in 1844 in Eccleston.[1]
John's mother died in about 1848, aged 67.
