Biography

George Forbes, 5th Earl of Granard (1740-1780) was the son of Lt.-Gen. George Forbes, 4th Earl of Granard and Letitia Davys. He m.(1) Dorothea Bayly, daughter of Sir Nicholas Bayly, 2nd Bt. and Caroline Paget, in 1759 and (2) Lady Georgiana Augusta Berkeley, daughter of Lt.-Col. Augustus Berkeley, 4th Earl of Berkeley and Elizabeth Drax, on 20 April 1766 at London, England. He died on 16 April 1780 at age 40.

He succeeded his father as 5th Earl of Granard on 16 October 1769.
