Joseph Forcier was born about 1848 in Windsor, Canada.^[1] He was a ship carpenter and a sailor.^[1][2]

Joseph Forcier (age 22y) married Ludmilla Leblanc (age 17) on 26 February 1870 in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan.^[1] Their twelve children included:

1. Annie (Forcier) Peters (~1870 - ~1948)
2. Louise Forcier (1874 - bef. 1880)
3. Walter Fred Forcier (1877 - 1937)
4. Minnie (Forcier) Schoenherr (1879 - aft. 1937)
5. Alfred Forcier (1884 - bef. 1900)
6. Unnamed Infant Forcier (1885 - 1885) (stillborn female)
7. Josephine Marie (Forcier) Blair (1887 - 1935)
8. Edna M. (Forcier) Holland (1892 - aft. 1965)
9. Stella Forcier (1895 - bef. 1900)

and three unidentified children who were deceased prior to 1900.
