Ann was born in 1809. Her parents were Joshua Ford and Martha Hoyle. She was christened on 28 April 1809 at Silkstone, Yorkshire.[1]

Ann married Thomas Newton on 15 December 1827 at Silkstone, Yorkshire. [2] They had twelve children.

Ann and Thomas lost their daughter, Sarah Newton, was killed in the Huskar Moorend Pit Colliery Disaster on 4 July 1838.

Thomas passed away in 1852, age 45.[3]

Ann married Charles Horsfield, a widower, in 1852 soon after the death of Thomas in 1852.[4] They had one child.

Charles passed away in 1855. [5]

In the 1861 Ann was working as a Coal Loader to help support her family

Ann passed away in 1890, age 81. [6] She was buried on 1 July 1890 at Silkstone, Yorkshire.[7]
