Mary was born in 1815 at Kingstone, Kent, England^[1] and baptised on the 15th October 1815 at St.Giles, Kingstone next Canterbury, Kent, England, the daughter of Edward Ford (Shopkeeper) and Martha Ford of Kingstone^[2].

She married Robert Edward Phillpott on the 31st March 1840 at St. John the Baptist, Margate, Kent, England. Robert Edward Philpott, bachelor, plumber of Swiss Cottage, Margate, son of Thomas Philpott (Crier) and Mary Ann Ford, spinster of Long Mill Lane, Margate, daughter of Edward Ford (parish clerk). Witnessed by Geo{rge} Dixon {parish clerk} and Harriet Dunkin^[3]

Mary Ann Phillpott passed away aged 65 years on the 16th October 1880 at 12 Cranbourne Alley, Margate, Kent*^[4] and was buried on the 22nd October 1880 at St. John the Baptist, Margate, Kent, England^[5].
