Biography

Dorothy was born on 16 May 1923 in Wellington. She was the daughter of Willis Ford and Violet Saunders.

She appears in the 1935 Shoal Bay census with her parents and nine siblings: Earl Frederick, Manuel, Arthur John, Edith Maud, Alma, Sarah, Rebecca Olive, Annie Georgina, and Wallace Clayton. All are listed as Salvation Army. [1]

She married Samuel Collins in 1940.

She appears in the 1945 Wellington census with her first husband, Samuel Collins, their first two children, Elizabeth and Arthur, and four of her husband's half-siblings, Lena, Newton, Reuben and Alice. [2]

Dorothy and Samuel had two more children, before he died in 20 Feb 1948.

Dorothy married Robert Keats and had twelve children. She died in 2015.

Notes: Wellington was previously known as Shoal Bay and later known as Dover.
