Hazel was born in 1893, the oldest of 4 children of John F and Ida M Teatian Ford. [1]
She was still living at home in April at the time the 1910 Census was taken,[2] but on 4 Nov of that year, she married Armond Earl McCammon. [3]
In 1920, Hazel, Armond and their 2 sons were living in Houston with Armond's father James. However, by 1930, Armond had remarried and Hazel subsequently took the surname Lee. The 1940 Census shows her living in Galveston. Her marital status, divorced. [4]
It is uncertain when or why Hazel began using the surname Lee. No marriage records or other documents have come to light and no references to a Mr. Lee. However, her son Earl Delmar, the informant for her death certificate used that surname. [6]
