Possible Addition/Correction

From Douglas Richardson, “The English Ancestry of the Merwin and Tinker Families of New England; Part Two: John Tinker of Boston and Lancaster, Massachusetts and Windsor and New London, Connecticut,” New England Historical and Genealogical Register (149[October 1995]: 423):

“Mary Waller, b. at Lyme in the spring of 1679;[123] m. John Thomas of New Haven.”

[Footnote] “123. Lyme VRs, 2:182.”

In reviewing the Vital Records of Lyme, New London County, Connecticut, per the Barbour Collection, I have not found a birth (or marriage) entry for Mary Waller. This source is now online as:

https://dcms.lds.org/delivery/DeliveryManagerServlet?dps_pid=IE4530519

The position of footnote 123 in the body of the text implies that it only pertains to the birth of Mary Waller. By what source(s) can it be determined that Mary Waller married John Thomas of New Haven?

Assuming that Mary Waller married John Thomas of New Haven, by what source(s) can it be determined that he was identical with John-3 Thomas (Daniel-2, John-1), as presented by Jacobus in Families of Ancient New Haven at 7:1728?

“John [Thomas] b. c. 1672, d 25 Jan 1711/2 ae 39 WHT1; m. Mary -----; she m (2) Richard Porter & (3) Deliverance Downs.”

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Mary by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Mary:

I found a note that Mary Ford married second, Richard Porter, but I do not know the source.
