Biography

Monica Ford was born about 1728 in St. Mary's County, Province of Maryland, daughter of Robert Ford (~1683–~1754) and Theresa Van Swearingen (~1683–1754).

Monica married John Fenwick; son of Enoch Fenwick. Their known children were:

  2. Margaret Fenwick (~1743–1817)
  3. Mary Fenwick (~1745–1813)
  4. Joseph Fenwick (~1749–~1810)
  5. Monica Fenwick (1751–1818)
  6. Anne Fenwick (1751–>1802)
  7. William Fenwick (1759–1833)
  8. Eleanor Fenwick (1761– )
  9. Catherine Fenwick (1763– )

Monica died after 1781 in St. Mary's County, aged about 52.

To son In law John Fenwick and dau Monica Fenwick, all tracts Of land where John Ffenwick now lives and after their decease to grandson Robert Fenwick,

To Susannah Dunn dau to Margarett Dunn, 2 young Negroes.

To sister Teresla Wimsatt 1000 Pounds of tobacco and all accounts that appear on my book against her or debts due to me.

To my two brothers John Ford and Peter Ford, each 1/2 my wearing apparel and 1000 pounds of tobacco a piece.

To Monica Williams, Negro wench Moll now in the possession of William Williams her husband,

To the Poor w1thIn 6 miles of where I live.,8000 pounds of tobacco.

To Peter Ford, Junr., 30 pounds sterling, 1000 pounds of tobacco, five barrels of corn, and all debts due to me. 1/3 of personal estate to Wife Teresia Ford and appoint her extx.
