I live in Adelaide, South Australia; monitor quality management in the haematology department of a large, multi-site medical pathology laboratory; am crazy about all things canine; and have been researching my family history for over three decades. I am very interested in the social context of my ancestors' lives and, surprisingly, thirty two years of reading doctors' handwriting has proved to be a useful prerequisite for reading Gothic Swedish handwriting.
Genealogy is a good fit with my love of puzzles and mysteries, sometimes a little too good! DNA, however, has helped to break down some of my brick walls. I have tested a number of close family members and have Y-DNA tested my brother (Ford line), a 1C1R (Lane line) and a 1C2R (Parker line). I manage kits at Ancestry, Family Tree DNA and My Heritage, am willing to help others where I can, and have some experience at solving adoption cases.
Although I opened my Wikitree account a few years ago, and created some records for family members at the time, I have only recently (December 2019) become more active. As I have no children, no younger family members who want to continue my work, and have been gifted with the research of other family members, I have chosen Wikitree as the vehicle to share my work freely, so that others may continue to add to my contribution now and after I have dropped off the twig.
In the event of my passing, or that I have become unable through physical or mental illness, to continue my work here, I place the profiles I manage into the caring hands of the Wikitree Admin. If any member(s) of my family have the desire to continue what I have started, I ask that they be allowed to manage those profiles and have the guidance to continue in an appropriate manner. Any locked profiles that I manage I believe to contain only information that can be found on the internet, so they may be dealt with as privacy would allow.
