Robert Ford was the son of Robert Ford and Lydia Unknown. Son Robert left a will written 27 Dec 1735, probate 15 September 1735 in St. Mary's County, Maryland naming father Robert, 6 children and wife Margaret ^[1]

Will of Robert Ford, planter of Strand, 12/27/1735-9/15/1740. Wife: Margaret 1/3 personal estate after debts; two working horses; and privilege upon land called "Strand" during her widowhood. Eldest Son: John Ford and second son, Robert Ford "Strand" which was willed to me by my father (the first patent obtained by him containing 100 ac. in the main fork of Brittains Bay). Eldest Son, John and third son, Peter 82 ac. of _____; they are to pay to second son Robert 2,000 lbs. tobacco has his 1/3 pt. of this land. Youngest son: Peter, "Maypole" pursuant to my father's will. Sons John, Robert and Peter 1 ac. of "Downham" in the freshes of Brittains Bay it being intended by my father for conveniency of a warehouse for the Strand and Maypole families. Six children: John, Robert, Peter, Monica Shockly, Teresa Wimsatt, and Anastasia Mattingly my personal estate equally divided. Third son: Peter, Exec. Witnesses: William Howard, John Daly, Luke Cusic. William Howard and John Daly were present at probate on 9/15/1740. Also present was the widow.
