Frances (Ford) Marillier was born in Essex, England.
Frances (Ford) Marillier South African 1820 Settler and Descendants
Frances Jane Clarissa was born in England in 1805; she was the daughter of James Edward Ford and Frances (Stransham) Ford.
She emigrated to the Cape Colony with her parents as part of Bailie's Party of 1820 Settlers on the 'Chapman'.
She married her father's friend, Philip Richard Marillier, in Somerset East in April 1822; the following children were born of this marriage:
- Frances Louisa Adelaide Marillier
- Harriet Elizabeth (Marillier) Hart
- Frederic James Marillier
- Ellen Sarah Marillier
- Philip Francis Marillier
- William Henry Marillier
- Emily Jeanette (Marillier) Wienand
- Richard Edward Marillier
- Caroline Jane (Marillier) Miller
- Ann Cecilia (Marillier) Edwards
Frances was 60 years old when she passed away in her home in Somerset East on 5 December 1865.[1][2]
