Biography
Thomas and his sister Elisabeth J. both died of scarlet fever in the spring of the year 1853, within a few days of each other. Their mother "went out of her mind" with grief at losing two children so close together. They are buried in unmarked graves near their grandmother Juliana and uncle William.
