1. Justification for the change of birth date from 1820 to 1793
Edward was linked as the father of Susannah Foreman (abt.1826-1924) and her brother John Foreman (abt.1829-bef.1929). The dob on Edwards profile was 1820, this was considered to be incorrect, since he would have been a child when Susanna and John were born.
Parish baptism records were found for Susanna and John. They show that their parents were 'Edward and Susanna Foreman' of Holbeach[2]. It was concluded that their father's name was correct, but his dob was incorrect
It was found that Susanna and John's parents, Edward and Susanna Foreman had five other children in Holbeach. The first two were named were John (b. 1818)[3] and Levina Foreman (b. 1819)[4]
The Holbeach parish register has a record for the baptism of an Edward Foreman in 1793 and it shows his parents as John and Lavina[1]. It has been assumed that this was Edward Foreman, father of Susanna and John, and that he named his first two children after his own parents. Consequently Edward's dob was changed from 1820 to 1793.
