Biography

Marie Charlotte Foreman was born on 29 September 1790 in North Carolina. She was the daughter of Ephraim J. Foreman and Mary Elizabeth (Brown) Foreman.^[1][2] Marie Charlotte was baptized on 29 September 1806 at age 16 in Opelousas, Louisiana.^[3][2]

On 29 September 1806, the day of her baptism, Marie Charlotte married Francois Hoffpauir at St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas, Louisiana.^[4][2]

Francois died c.1830. In 1832 Charlotte married Jacob Higgenbotham in Lafayette, Louisiana.^[5][2]

She and Jacob were counted on the census together in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana in 1850.^[6]

Marie Charlotte and Jacob may have migrated west to Texas. She may have died at the age of about 63 in 1854 in Liberty County, Texas,^{[citation needed]} or in St. Landry, Louisiana in 1865. ^{[citation needed]}
