Biography

Marguerite Forest was born about 1750[1] in Ménoudie, Nova Scotia. Her parents were Charles Forest and Marie Josèphe Poirier.[2]

She was married in Ménoudie on 14 August 1775 to Joseph dit Jean-André LeBlanc.[2][3][4]

Joseph and Marguerite had four children:[5]

  1. Pierre LeBlanc
  2. Jean LeBlanc
  3. Marie LeBlanc
  4. Emmanuel LeBlanc

Marguerite died at about 63 years old on 23 April 1813, at Fox Creek, New Brunswick. She was buried two days later in the parish of Memramcook.[1][6][7][8][9]

«In the register for Franklin Manor, we are told that Joseph dit Jean-André LeBlanc married Marguerite Forest at 14 August 1775. It goes on to say that about 1810, Joseph and his wife went to Fox-Creek to their son Pierre's home and that it was here that they both died in May of 1813 from yellow fever. Joseph and Marguerite Forest had four children: Pierre, Jean, Marie and Emmanuel.»[10] She was about 63 years old according to the register. (Estimated date of birth 1750). Joseph died away 5 days later. Their daughter Marie died on April 27th, and their son Pierre around 16 May.

Forest-485 and Forest-86 do not represent the same person because: Same name, married to men with same name, and their fathers have the same name. They are easily confused but they are not a match!

Forest-317 and Forest-86 appear to represent the same person because: same parents, spouse, and children per profiles. Forest-86 has been corrected to remove the erroneous Louisiana data due to confusion with her identity, and is ready to move forward with this merge. Thanks!
This profile is connected to parents Charles Forest and Marguerite Saulnier. However that appears to be incorrect. A sister also named Marguerite is connected to this family, and appears to be the actual daughter for these parents. THIS Marguerite Forest-683 has been matched to Marguerite Forest-86 in a merge proposal, and based on both birth and death dates the match seems to be correct. Forest-86 was never in Louisiana, having died in New Brunswick. Forest-683 was originally created as having died in New Brunswick as well, but with the incorrect parents which caused confusion with the other Marguerite Forest-86.

If there are no objections, we should disconnect this Marguerite from these parents, remove the Louisiana references , and allow the proposed merge to proceed.

See research note. Another possible duplicate for Marguerite.

Sorry, I mistakenly thought the other merge had been done. I incorporated the information and deleted the research note header-- and possibly some info-- when I merged Forest-683 and Forest-86. :(

No problem Stephanie. It can still be consulted in Changes - 11 June 2020, and left there.

I'll review and determine what notes need to be retained in the final profiles after merges are complete. Thanks!
Forest-683 and Forest-86 appear to represent the same person because: Same name, same birth year (both estimated). Same death - off by one day which could be death and burial.

Hi Cindy. Fox Creek caught my attention because it is close to Memramcook. In the Centre des études acadiennes index for the register of Memramcook, only one Marguerite Forest was buried in 1813 and she was married to Joseph LeBlanc. See research note.

I rejected this merge because the fathers are different and mothers also different. The spouses are different Josephe LeBlancs (see their parents).

Changed mother to Marie Josephe Poirier per Karen Theriot Reader documentation, the first wife of Charles forest was Marie Chiasson but no children are identified for that marriage.

Forest-683 and Forest-317 are not ready to be merged because: conflicting parents, more research is needed.
