He was born on December 20, 1924, in Hartford, Washington, the son ofOrville and Arlie Rice Forrest. He attended high school in Marysville,Washington and then served in the United States Army during WWII from1943-1946. He was stationed in Hawaii, Okinawa, and Korea. On returning to the states Orville obtained his degree in theology atNorthwest Bible College of the Assembly of God at Kirkland, Washington.During this time he met his lifelong, loving companion, Alma Jackson.They were married on June 30, 1950 at Marysville, WA. Orville loved life and people. He pastored from 1950-1955 at VashonIsland, WA, Big Timber, MT, Cottonwood, AZ and RV Resorts of AZ. Heworked for the Forest Service as crew boss for tree planting, buildingtrails, maintaining campgrounds and fighting fires. He was also anemployee of the U.S. Postal Services in Seattle, WA and worked at the St.Regis Lumber Mill in Troy, MT. He was an avid reader. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting andgardening. He loved to spend time with his family and cared deeply forthe communities he pastored and tended for. One of his greatest joys wassharing the love and hope of Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sharon Rose. Orville will be sorely missed by his family who loved him dearly.Thank you "Dad" for your unfading love for us. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Alma, of Troy, MT; threedaughters, Jan Tatum, Cottonwood, AZ, Cindy Elkins, Anchorage, AK, SandyWillis, Troy, MT; two sisters Doris Verlinda, Marysville, WA, ElsieHinkle, Battleground, WA; seven grandchildren, Forrest and Troy Tatum;Brendan, Taylor and Katherine Elkins; Arnie and John Willis. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00-8:00 p.m. at the Nelson & VialFuneral Home in Libby, MT and on Friday from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at theKootenai Chapel Assembly of God Church in Troy, MT Services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Kootenai Chapel Assemblyof God in Troy with Pastor J.E. Jacobson officiating. Burial will followat Milnor Lake Cemetery.
