Obituary

MRS. W. SADLEMYER DIES AT MAZENOD

MAZENOD - Death claimed another pioneer of the district in the person of Mrs. Walter Sadlemyer, Saturday, at the age of 59 years and five months. Born Nov. 8, 1882, at Larimore, North Dakota, her maiden name was Betty Forslop (sic), and she came with her husband to their homestead in the North Point district, North of Mazenod, exactly 31 years before the day of her death. She endured all the hardships of pioneering and was a tower of strength to her community. During the last four years she had been in failing health, but bore it with uncomplaining fortitude.

A brief funeral service was held at the farm home Monday from there proceeding to a public service at North Point school, thence to Mossbank cemetery for burial. Six sons of the deceased were pallbearers. Rev. E. M. Graham, of Mazenod United church, officiated at the services. Left to mourn besides her husband are nine daughters, Sadie (Mrs. J. Haug, Mossbank); Lennie, (Mrs. Robt. Elkhorn, Gouveneur); Bernice (Mrs/ Otto Kraus, Moose Jaw); Mabel. (Mrs. Melvin Rollie, Mazenod); Nellie (Mrs. J. Bard, Fort Q’Appelle); Mylene, Moose Jaw; Ara, Weyburn, and Eunice and Gladys at home; seven sons, Percy, Moose Jaw; Fred, Regina; Walter, Moose Jaw; Ernest, Mossbank; James, Clinton and Roy at home, and 10 grandchildren.
