Biography

Agnes was born about 1865 in Stoke Newington, London. Her father was Adam Forsyth, a Nurseryman. Her mother was Eliza (Hardie) Forsyth.

Agnes married Joshua Lewis in 1891 in Geraldine. Although Agnes was living in Geraldine at the time of their marriage, her usual residence was Christchurch. From their marriage certificate we learn that Joshua was working as a groom and Agnes as a domestic servant. Both were aged 25.

Agnes passed away in 1936. Joshua died ten years later.
