Biography
Sarah was born 11 Dec 1843, christened 21 Dec 1843 in Airdrie, Lanarkshire, Scotland. She was the daughter of James Forsyth and Agnes McDonald. [1]
In 1851 Sarah was living at Walston, New Monkland with her parents and siblings. She was a scholar.[2]
In 1861 Sarah was a general servant living at Sand Burn, Muiravonside with her parents, siblings and uncle.[3]
Sarah married [[James Reid]] on 29 December 1871 in the Parish of Muiravonside. James was a minor and only 19 years old. Marriage record shows Sarah was 28, but I beleive this is an error, as her birth record shows she was born in 1843. Parents for Sarah are shown to be James Forsyth and Agnes McDonald. Witnesses for the marriage were Peter and Helen Forsyth. [4]
In 1881 Sarah was living at Glenhead Farm, Muiravonside with her mother, siblings, three of her children and a boarder. She was a general servant. [5]
In 1891 Sarah was living at Glenhead Farm, Muiravonside with her mother, siblings, son and a boarder. She was an out door worker.[6]
In 1901 Sarah was living in California, Grangemouth Parish with her son, two brothers and two grand daughters. She was a housekeeper. Her two grand daughters were: Sarah Jenkins born c 1895 in Muiravonside and Jeannie Jenkins born 1896 in Polmont. [7]
