Biography

Charity E. Fort, daughter and 4rth child of Josiah Fort and Piety Horn, was born 6/15/1796 in Robertson County, Tennessee, the year Tennessee became a state. She died 5/17/1838 and was buried beside her son Ambrose J.F. Bourne in the Josiah Fort Cemetery.

She married 5/30/1819, (as his third wife), Rev. Ambrose Dudley Bourne 1772 - 1823. He was called Ambrose. They had two children. Per Homer T. Fort, Drucilla Stovall Jones, A family called Fort: The Descendents of Elias Fort of Virginia. West Texas Printing Company, 1970. Page 441.
