Governor Thomas Fortescue was the only surviving son of Faithful Fortescue and Anne Moore.[1]
He was a Captain of the horse under Lord Herbert in England and coronet of his father's regiment in 1642. By 2 Aug 1649 he had been appointed to the title of Lt. Colonel, simply being referred to as Lt. Col. Fortescue.[1]
In 1661, he was appointed Governor of Carrickfergus Castle in his father's place.[1]
He married Sidney (Kingsmill) Fortescue.
Two sons:
He died in 1710 at the age of 90.[1][2]
