Marie Anne Fortier was born and baptized on 26 Dec 1809 in Saint-Hénri de Lauzon parish on Lévis. She was the daughter of Joseph Fortier and his wife Marie Anne Audet. At age 17 Marie Anne married Joseph Elie dit Breton on 2 Oct 1827 in Sainte-Marie parish in Beauce. The couple had nine children, three of whom survived to adulthood. Marie Anne died at age 43 on 28 Jan 1843; she was buried two days later in Saint-Marie's parish cemetery.
