Biography
François Fortin was born on 3 Aug 1782 and was baptized the next day in Saint-Joachim parish, L'Assomption. He was the son of Joseph Marie Fortin and Marie Josephte Pépin Lachance. Godparents at François' baptism were his uncle Louis Pepin dit Lachance and his aunt Françoise Pepin dite Lachance wife of Jean Marie Poulin. At age 27 François married Louise Paré on 30 Jan 1809 in Saint-Joachim parish. Following Louise's death in 1818, François married Marguerite Lessard on 20 Apr 1819, also in Saint-Joachim parish. François Fortin died on 05 Nov 1828 and was buried two days later in the Saint-Joachim parish cemetery.
