Geneviève Fortin was born on 28 Oct 1686 and baptized under condition in Rivière-des-Trois-Saumons and then baptized on 19 Nov in Saint-Ignace-de-Loyola parish of Cap-Saint-Ignace. She was the daughter of Charles Fortin and of Sainte Cloutier. Godparents at the infant's baptism were Eustache Fortin and Geneviève Langlois. The officiating priest was Claude Moreau.[1]

Marriage
Geneviève Fortin married Louis Lemieux, son of the late Louis Lemieux and Marie Madeleine Costé, on 11 Feb 1705 in Notre-Dame-du-Bon-Secours parish of L'Islet. In the presence of known witnesses Guillaume Lemieux, Louis Côté, Charles Couillard, Pierre Lessard, Pierre Gagnier, Alexis Gagnier, Louis Gagnier, Joseph Lemieux, Pierre Caron, Louise Lepicard, Anne Côté, Élisabeth Lemieux, Eustache Fortin, Pierre Fortin, Barbe Fortin, Marie Fortin, Marie Depre, Louis Gamache, Ignace Gamache, Jean François Bélanger, Louis Bélanger, Marguerite Lefrancois, and François Dubuisson. The celebrant priest was Philippe Rageot.[2]

Death and Burial
Geneviève Fortin, wife of the late Louis Lemieux, passed away on 30 Jul 1763 being given the age of around 80 years on the record. Her burial was the following day in Saint-Ignace-de-Loyola parish cemetery of Cap-Saint-Ignace, Province of Québec. In the presence of known witness Joseph Fortin. The officiating priest was Maisonbasse.[3]
