Lee Anderson Fortson, 86, of 110 Athens Street, Hartwell, died Monday night
in the Anderson, SC Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. Born in
Elbert County, he was a son of the late Henry A. and Lura Brown Fortson. He
had lived in Hartwell for a number of years, was a member of the Hartwell
First Baptist Church and a retired merchant. There are no local survivors in the immediate family. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at
3 o'clock in the Strickland Funeral Home in Hartwell with the Rev. Ted Kelley and Layman Robert G. Wages officiating. Burial will be in Nancy Hart Memorial Park. The body is at the funeral home and the family at the residence. The
family will meet friends at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m.tonight.

Lee Anderson Fortson was born 16 May 1891, the son of Henry A. Fortson
(1844-1909), Confederate soldier, and Lura A. Brown (1856-1908).He married Callye Campbell of Hartwell who died in 1963. They had one daughter.
