Biography

Heber Eugene Foster; 93 of Madisonville, TX passed away on July 16, 2014 at his home. Funeral services are scheduled for 10AM Wednesday, July 23rd at Day Funeral Home Chapel in Madisonville with the burial to follow in Joyze Cemetery which is also in Madisonville. Heber was born on February 7, 1921 in Madisonville, Texas to Samuel Henry Foster and Capatolia Perna (Parsons) Foster. He graduated from Madisonville High School in March 1939. He then attended Sam Houston University in Huntsville, where he met and married his sweetheart, Dorothy Nell Hill. Heber entered the U.S. Army Air Force on October 21, 1943. He served in the 5th Air Force in the South Pacific during World War II for 2 years. After his military service, Heber went to work at Hughes Tool Company near downtown Houston as a General Foreman. He and Dorothy lived in Jacinto County and raised there children.

Heber loved gardening, fishing, hunting, playing his fiddle, barbecuing, and building bluebird houses. His most treasured possession was a fiddle his father gave him.
