The parents of Perley Foster born in 1792 were John Foster and Anna Beard. This is demonstrated by the Revolutionary War pension file of Anna Beard Foster who died in Indiana in September 1843. Anna Beard and John Foster were married in Tewskbury in 1781. In the pension file, the names of surviving children of Anna are given at the time of her death in September 1843. One of those was Capt. Perley Foster of Nashua, New Hampshire who was living in September 1843 but was deceased in 1844 (Perley died in December 1843). (U. S. Revolutionary War Pension and Bounty Land Application Files, Case W10034)

Perley's father John Foster died at Greenfield, New Hampshire on 6 December 1816 according to the pension file.

The Foster Genealogy lists this Perley in two places in the book with the same birth date but different parents. The two listings here. On page 215 where he is given as son of John Brainard Foster and Sarah Taylor but born four months after his mother's death; https://archive.org/details/fostergenealogy03pier/page/214/mode/2up On page 602 with parents John Foster and Anna Beard who were his parents https://archive.org/details/fostergenealogy03pier/page/602/mode/2up?q=5033

I question the birth year as Sarah Taylor died in 1792
