Charles F. Foster FOSTER, Charles F. - Age 70, of 11642 Upper Crow Creek Rd., Azalea, died Monday, March 9, 1998 from injuries sustained in a tractor accident at his home. Charles was born June 27, 1927 in Eufaula, Oklahoma, the son of Orville and Lucy (Taylor) Foster. He was a veteran of WWII, serving as an MP with the US Army in Germany. On January 1, 1977, he was united in marriage to Margaret Ward in Colusa, California. The fosters made their home in Sutter, California, where Charles worked for many years as a carpentry general contractor for the California Rural Housing Authority before retiring and later moving to Azalea in 1994. He was a former member of the United Carpenters Union in California. Charles enjoyed hunting and fishing and also was talented in making willow furniture for family and friends. Surviving are his wife, Margaret; two daughters: Sandra (Jeff) Hurtt, Bakersfield California, Vickie Jezeski of Orville, California; a son Charles “Mark” Foster, Bakersfield, California; three step-daughters: Debra (Billy) Hollis, McMinnville; Diana Smith, Azalea; Dolores Wilson, Spokane, Washington; four step-sons: Darwin Nieto, Azalea; David (Susan) Nieto, Yuba City California; Dennis Nieto, Chico, California; 30 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and two sisters; Rosalee (Al) Sage, Sugarloaf, California; and Dorothy (George) Hofstetter, Downey, California. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 12th at the MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME, Myrtle Creek. Pastor Michael Newsome will officiate. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m., until time of services at the funeral home on Thursday. Funeral services are also pending with the Peters Funeral Home in Shafter, California. Burial will follow in Bakersfield, California.
