Biography

Hanna Foster, daughter of Thomas Foster and Mary, was baptized 22 Aug 1680 at Blore Ray, St. Bartholomew, Staffordshire.^[1]

Hannah Foster of Calton, Blore, Stafford married Ralph Browne, son of John Browne and Joanne, who was baptized 9 Jan 1672 at Ellastone, St Peter, Staffordshire.^[2] They married on 5 Oct 1701, at Mayfield, St John the Baptist, Ashbourne, Staffordshire, England.^[3] The marriage license was issued in Blore.^[4] Calton is a chapelry of Blore Ray Ancient Parish, Mayfield Ancient Parish, and Waterfall Ancient Parish in Staffordshire.

Hannah is mentioned in the Will of her father, Thomas Foster of Calton, Blore, Stafford as his “beloved daughter Hannah, the now wife of Ralph Brown.” Thomas also mentions granddaughter, Elizabeth, daughter of Ralph and Hannah Brown.^[5]
