Biography
Alexander Mouat Foster was born in 1850, his birth was registered in Stepney, Middlesex, England. [1]
In the 1851 census Alexander (age 6 Mo) was the son of Elizabeth Foster in Limehouse, Middlesex, England.[2]
In the 1861 census Alexander (age 10) was the nephew of Joseph Thompson in East Dereham, Norfolk, England.[3]
Alexander married Constance Emily Olivia Flockton in 1889 in New Zealand.[4]
Alexander died on 20 December 1916 and was buried on 23 December 1916 in Dunedin, Otago, Otago. His cemetery record confirms he was born in London, England and was aged 65 when he died. [5] [6]Was a member of the St Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Lyttelton New Zealand before leaving for the Chatham Islands in 1888[7] after gaining a role as the superintendent of the Chatham Islands school at Te One, Chatham Island.[8][9] He also served as the Primate for the church on the Island. [10] He died in 1916 aged 65.[11]
